2010 Business & Industry Leader's Lunch

The Istrouma Area Council, Boy Scouts of America is proud to hold the 2010 Annual Business & Industry Leaders’ Lunch Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. The keynote speaker for this year’s event is Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. Jay Grymes, WAFB Channel 9 Chief Meteorologist, will be this year’s emcee.

The purpose of this lunch is to bring leaders of local business and industries together to learn more about the Istrouma Area Council and the programs it provides in our community. Governor Jindal supports the the mission of the Boy Scouts of America, which is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Bobby Jindal was elected Governor of Louisiana in 2008 with 54 percent of the vote in the primary, winning 60 of the 64 parishes. Governor Jindal has put forth detailed plans for reforming our State’s health care, education, and transportation systems, as well as for encouraging workforce development and continuing recovery efforts in areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina and Rita, as well as Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. Governor Jindal has worked tirelessly to eliminate the bureaucratic red-tape that has slowed the recovery process in the past, allowing recovery to progress quickly.
